Materials
- 2 skeins of Lion Brand Yarn Wool-Ease Thick & Quick (1 red and one white). In this pattern, I used the colors Cranberry and Starlight.
- US size 11 circular needles (8mm).

Gauge
9 its – 12 rows = 4” (10cm)
Abbreviations
This pattern is written in standard US terms.
- CO – cast on
- K – knit
- P – purl
- K2tog – knit two together
Pattern
Brim:
CO 40 stitches in the round with your white yarn.
Rows 1-8: *K1, P1, * repeat to the end of the round.
Body:
Switch to red yarn.
Rows 8-28:Knit all stitches.
Decrease:
Row 29: *K8, K2tog, * repeat to the end of the round.
Row 30: Knit all stitches.
Row 31: *K7, K2tog, * repeat to the end of the round.
Row 32: Knit all stitches.
Row 33: *Knit 6, K2tog, *repeat to the end of the round.
Row 34: Knit all stitches.
Row 35: *Knit 5, K2tog, *repeat to the end of the round.
Row 36: Knit all stitches.
Row 37: *Knit 4, K2tog, *repeat to the end of the round.
Row 38: Knit all stitches.
Row 39: *Knit 3, K2tog, *repeat to the end of the round.
Row 40: Knit all stitches.
Row 41: *Knit 2, K2tog, *repeat to the end of the round.
Row 42: Knit all stitches.
Row 43: *Knit 1, K2tog, *repeat to the end of the round.
Row 44: Knit all stitches.
Row 45: *K2tog, *repeat to the end of the round.
Cut the yarn and weave the end through the remaining stitches. Pull tight to close and tie a knot. Weave in any loose ends.
