Pattern: Knit Scrunchie
This scrunchie will be your new work from home must-have accessory. It’s perfect for those days where you want to look like you at least put in some effort to get off the couch and onto a video conference.

Materials
- One skien of Scout by Kelbourne Woolens (pictured above in Sunflower Heather)

Gauge
20 – 22 stitches = 4″
This pattern allows for a lot of flexibility with gauge, depending on how tight you like your scrunchies to be. It is best to keep your knitting fairly loose to allow your scrunchie to stretch when pulled to wrap around your hair.
Abbreviations
- CO – cast on
- K – knit
Pattern
Knitting
CO 65 stitches in the round.
Knit all rows in the round until the length of your piece measures a height of 2 1/2 inches. If you would like a larger scrunchie, knit until your piece measures a height of 4 inches.
Cast off.
Scrunchie Assembly
See the photos above if you need a visual to help you with this step!
You will be left with a circular tube. Turn your work inside out so that the wrong side is facing outward. Take a hair tie and wrap it around your work so that it is in the middle of the knit piece. Fold your knitting in half around the hair tie to form the scrunchie. With a craft needle and yarn, sew the ends of the scrunchie together. Weave the remaining ends into the scrunchie.
